Governor Ned Lamont Visits Monroe’s Sip & Scoop Ice Cream Shop.

On October 1, 2024, Governor Ned Lamont visited Sip & Scoop, a family-owned ice cream shop in Monroe, Connecticut, to show support for local businesses recovering from recent flooding.

Sip & Scoop, had been open for just three weeks when the August floods caused significant damage, including to essential equipment like their soft serve machine.

During his visit, Governor Lamont enjoyed a Strawberry Dragon Fruit drink and discussed recovery efforts with the owners. He emphasized the importance of community support and the availability of federal assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Business Recovery Center, located at the Monroe Police Department.

State Senator Kevin Kelly, representing Monroe, also joined the visit, highlighting the collaborative efforts at the state and federal levels to aid businesses like Sip & Scoop in their recovery.
